WCCC Championships at San Diego State University Oct.31st, Nov. 1st Halloween!! Lake Morena/Cleveland National Forest will be the site of the Conference Championships' XC and DH on Saturday, 10/31. This course has been run as a NORBA event(sagebrush safari) for the past 10yrs and is one of the top 5 race-courses in the state. The XC features long single track and down-hill sections throughout the one-lap, 24mi (MA,MB, WA) and 18mi(MC.,WB) course. The DH is 2.7miles long with highly technical sections. Average run-times should be about 10 min. Correct lines and a middle chain-ring will be the key to this event. This will be a single run, best time wins race. The Dirt Crit on sunday will be at Mission Trails using the same course as our last regionals race. It is a 1.75 mile loop with MA-11laps,MB-9laps,MC-7laps,WA-9laps,WB-6laps Start times: Cross-country MA-8am MB-8:05 MC-8:15 WA-8:10 WB-8:20 Downhill 12pm or ASAP after the XC Riders will leave in 30 second intervals Pre-riding is allowed as possible before the start. The DH course is part of the XC so you automatically get to pre-ride it once. There will be limited shuttling, so you may drive yourself up the asphalt road to the top. Dirt Crit MC-9AM MB-10am WA-11am WB-12:30pm MA-1:45pm Entry fees: XC--$13.50 DH--$4.00 Crit--$11.00 Directions: For camping on friday night and the XC/DH on Saturday, take I-8 east about 50 miles to Buckmann Springs Road and turn right(south). Follow the road past the high-school and turn right on Corral Canyon Road. There is a sign denoting Corral Canyon OHV Area. If you cross the bridge on Buckmann Spgs, you've gone to far. Follow the signs to the North Shore Campground. We have sites 6-10 reserved, so camp anywhere within the sites. Sundays race is at mission trails regional park. From I-15 north or south, Exit Clairmont Mesa Blvd. and turn east. Turn right on Rueda, the last street before Clairmont mesa dead ends, and left on calle del Vida. follow the signs to the Start/finish. Questions??
